The Bonampak’s frescoes are very lively and ferocious scenes, painted in an harmonious way by the Mayas. The contrast between these scenes of human sacrifices and their depiction makes it more awesome. My use of Turquoise remembers the blue Maya and small anthropomorphic elements remind the figures. But the confusion of the composition seems to invade us. This confusion represents the modern view of war and violence which is very naïve and hypocrite. This rythmic combination of elements and lines gives the impression of many scenes simultaneously, a far reference to Bosch in an abstract way. |
