The
Dyonisian energies of the brazilian carnival allows for once ambiguity. There is
a dancing male figure and a blue female head (or a mask?) in carnival attires.
But can gender taken for granted in this symposium of colours? The ambience is
joyful and threatening in the same time. The colours, the music and dancing are
a therapy and a moment of catharsis from the troubles of life (in Brazil life
ain’t easy...). Nonetheless this lack of rules, and the wild anarchic
confusion questions the social rules which makes our lives easier and safer.
Carnival is a clear symbol of freedom, the supreme gift of human beings.
